Valentine’s Day, like many holidays, exposes a chasm between real life experience and the cheesy Hollywood version (you know, hopelessly romantic couples, perfectly matched, smooching under good lighting). For Pulitzer-prize winning author Jeffrey Eugenides, a good love story has a much less flawless finish. Word of Mouth host Virginia Prescott talks with Jeffrey about his new anthology, My Mistress's Sparrow is Dead: Great Love Stories, from Chekhov to Munro.
