Republican Ron Paul came in 5th place last night, just slightly behind former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

But as NHPR's Mark Bevis reports, the Texas Republican didn't concede defeat. Instead, he urged his supporters onward.

When news came that the candidate was going to address the hundreds of supporters gathered, the crowd broke into chants for Ron Paul.

"Who do we want?"
"Ron Paul!"
"What do we want?"
"Freedom!"

Never once in his thirty minute speech, regularly punctuated with such cheers, did the Texas Congressman mention the word defeat. Instead he told his supporters, many of them from out of town, that this primary was just the beginning of a new movement, to get rid of the nation's central banking system, abolish the IRS and bring peace and prosperity and freedom to the land.

"All I can say is that I wish each and every one of us well, and let us continue this grand revolution!"

According to the latest Federal Election Commission reports, Paul has more than 5 million dollars in his campaign treasury.

As of late last night, his website claims he's raised more than a half million dollars this quarter.
