Turnout Records Could Fall in Many Towns

Secretary of State Bill Gardner has predicted a record turnout for this presidential primary.

But ask many voters in Concord and Hooksett why they came out to cast ballots, and few say it was because of a candidate.

Instead, like Mary Matthews of Concord, they'll say they voted because they think they should.

"I felt it was my civic duty. No, I really feel like I need to stay in the whole process. It's a value of being a citizen here."

Election officials in many towns have said their local turnout records may be broken.
