Rock the Vote and Facebook have teamed up to get out the youth vote in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Public Radio's Amy Quinton reports.

Web resources:

Young voters tripled their numbers to the caucuses in Iowa. Now, Rock the Vote and Facebook are hoping 18-29 year-olds in New Hampshire do the same.

The 2004 Primary brought 11,000 more young voters to the polls, compared to the 2000 Primary. Rock the Vote Deputy Political Director Kathleen Barr says they've organized outreach on college campuses and student newspapers, and now online at the popular social networking site, Facebook.

We have over 5,000 young people on our Facebook event page already RSVP'd that they would vote today, and wall posts going up every two minutes from young people saying they got out and voted.

Barr says there are so many young people on Facebook that it's become a vast resource for getting out the vote. She hopes candidates are beginning to realize that targeting the youth vote is a winning strategy.
