Arizona Senator John McCain told voters in Pembroke this morning that at 71 he's got the stamina to be president.

Web resources:

His assurance came when a voter questioned whether he would be capable of serving two terms……McCain noted that said running for two terms might not be the best way to get votes, and added that his mother is still lively at 95.

"I think the decision as to whether to run for re-election has to do with the circumstances at the time. I really do. You shouldn't run for eight years, because then you think you have eight years to get these things done."

If elected McCain would surpass Ronald Reagan as the oldest president at time of inauguration.
