Republican presidential candidate John McCain was in New Hampshire this weekend. He spoke to a crowd of about 150 at a house party in Exeter Saturday.

John McCain outlined his plans for government reform, reducing global warming and the war in Iraq before fielding questions on a range of issues.

Exeter resident Republican Roy Morrisette voted for McCain in the 2000 primary and is leaning that way again.

Morrisette said he disagreed with McCain's positions on some of the issues, but liked his focus on changing practices in Washington.

"I think we have lost faith in our institution, and I think he is a person who can bring that back, because I believe he is sincere about what he says and he's not afraid to say things that you're not going to agree with him on, and stand behind those things."

Other voters present Saturday said they'd had some doubts about McCain in the past few months, but were giving him a second look.

McCain has been trying to regain his political footing after falling behind in fundraising and in the polls.
