New Hampshire Democratic activist Gary Hirshberg and his wife Meg today endorsed Illinois Senator Barack Obama for President.

Gary Hirshberg, the CEO of Stonyfield Yogurt in Londonderry, says he’s been impressed with Senator Obama.

He says Obama understands the need for economic reforms, renewable energy, and organic farming.

And Hirshberg says early evidence in the campaign shows plenty of people agree that on these issues and others, Obama is getting it right.

"The simple evidence of that is the incredible number of donors who he’s brought in. his fundraising prowess has been extraordinary in dollar terms but even more extraordinary in terms of the number of donors."

Obama’s campaign announced last week that it had raised more than 30 million dollars from April through June.

That total led all candidates, Democrat and Republican, in fundraising.

Hirshberg had also been considered endorsing former North Carolina Senator John Edwards for President.

But he said he decided on Obama after hosting a house party for him.
