Poet Jack McCarthy has made a name for himself doing what he calls stand up poetry. He's in New England this month for readings around the region. We'll talk with him about his work and his past, as he describes it in his new chap book "disGrace Notes: Confessions of a Relapsing/Remitting Catholic."

We'll also hear an essay by writer Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock. We'll find out how her 8-year-old daughter taught her that the phrase "I Love You" isn't always what it's cracked-up to be. You can go directly to piece at the Public Radio Exchange by clicking here.
