Getting down to the wire
We have a John Edwards sign on our lawn. It appeared last Friday. The dog was barking, but I didn't bother to find out why. Then, when I went out later, it was there.
I had mentioned that my husband and I had gone to see him the Friday before. My husband has been driving around with a Dean sticker on his car for months, but before we left the town hall meeting, he volunteered to work for Edwards at the polls on primary day.
Last Saturday, he went to the campaign office and picked up a bumper sticker. When I got home from shopping for groceries, he was peeling the Dean sticker off his car and putting the Edwards one on. It would seem as if he's not alone in his last-minute candidate switching.
I ran into the friend the other day who referred me to Jon at New Hampshire Public Radio to participate in the Pen Pals project. We see each other about once a month and I always try to find out where he's at in deciding who he's going to vote for. He was pretty well convinced that he would be voting for Clark because he feels the general is the best choice to go toe-to-toe with Bush when it comes to patriotism.
Based on the news reports today, it appears that there's a great deal of movement going on in Iowa during these last few days leading up to the Iowa caucuses. Only goes to show that it's not over until the votes are counted.
