React to Braun

I saw the announcement on CNN this morning that Carol is dropping out of the race and giving her support to Dean? I'm not sure this is going to help him much as she didn't have a huge number of followers on the books (there were a number of people I talked to who put her at or near the top in credibility and stand on the issues but one in particular said he couldn't afford to giver her his vote when so much was at stake-getting control of the white house)

The biggest gripe I keep hearing as we near the actual caucus is that the candidates are wasting our time with the personal attacks instead of sticking to the issues. I ran in to a friend and her college age daughter last night and we all aggreed it did not bring us closer to the attacker. Our first inclination was to barf and then look to the others. but since almost everyone is digressing/indulging in negativism it didn't make it easier to nail down our final choice. We mothers had been rethinking our initial choice. If we spend all this energy attacking each other, what do we have left when it comes time to deal with Bush? How do we mend the rifts and close ranks as solidly as we need to and make believers out of everyone.
