There's a good handful of writers who celebrate the "Yankeeness" of Granite Staters but only a few who poke fun at it. Rebecca Rule is one of them. Her 1995 book The Best Revenge: Short Stories is a tongue-in-cheek look at everyday New Hampshire life, whether it’s the rituals of our state's hunters, trappers and fishers or a feud between lakefront neighbors or the colorful characters in any school board meeting.
