Carol Shea-Porter scored a surprise victory last November, besting Republican Jeb Bradley in New Hampshire's First Congressional District race to become the first Democrat to win the seat in twenty-five years and the first woman elected to national office in New Hampshire history. She ran a grassroots campaign with a strong anti-war platform and continues her push against the Iraq war while in Congress. We'll look at the freshman Congresswoman's first few months in office, what issues she's been out front on and how her stance on the war has been received by colleagues on both sides of the aisle.

Asking a congressperson,

Asking a congressperson, especially a Democrat, if the US should leave Iraq, is like asking a grocery store manager why he only stocks what people buy, not what they should eat.
Congress has to support leaving Iraq because the majority of
Americans do not understand the threat of the radical islamic groups.

Devoting all this media time to tactical issues without understanding strategy is tantamount to ultimated defeat. We must establish a major strategy opposing the radicals or else we face the threat of invasion on our soil.

Main stream media does not want to focus on the threat and the strategy, most American people have "remote-control" mentality and congressmen respond to the polls.

Where are the people who should establish long term strategy?
Presently in the White House, but not for long. \
The Bush Strategy, albeit at a cost, was to confront radical islam in the middle east. Assuming the majority of
Americans don't want that, where will we confront them?

The argument "to confront

The argument "to confront radical islam in the middle east" is so full of holes that it is laughable. This was really never about a stable Middle East for Iraqis, it is a stable Middle East so the shipment of oil won't stop. This is why our top three U.S. leaders, George, Cheney and Rice are completely tied to oil. The Bush administration did not select Condi Rice, who served 10 years on the board of Chevron, for her piano skills.

The holes:
1. In an foreign country it is difficult to know who the enemy is vs the innocent civilian. Everytime we kill an innocent person, we grow more enemies. We now have more terrorists than we started with. See this Christian Science Monitor article:
http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0205/p99s01-duts.html?s=mesdu

2. We leave our homeland less protected and terrorist come here anyway in droves. http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/0322/p01s01-uspo.html

3. The cost is outragious and it creates a hugh debt that weakens us economically, just as the war in Afganistan weakened Russia. The cost of the war to the state of NH is now at $1.7 billion. The town of Laconia's share is almost $18 million. How do we pay for that? Who pays? No one in NH wants to pay taxes. Who pays? This does not include the costs after the war. The costs of care for the wounded and the cost to replenish broken, missing equipment. Are YOU ready to step up and pay more?

Rep. Shea-Porter says she speaks for the military; however a number of members from Blue & Gold Star Mothers of NH telephoned her office while she was on break to arrange a meeting. They did not even receive the courtesy of return calls regarding their request.

Freshman Rep Shea

Freshman Rep Shea Porter,
This radio show proves how you do not respect military famlies like you promised. Your office was contacted several times by military famlies whom you ignored. You stood on the House floor and said there are no Heros in Iraq,(Davey Crockett). After listening to this show you care more about spinich farmers then soldiers.
