A number of Democratic state senators have formally endorsed presidential candidates.

New Hampshire Public Radio's Dan Gorenstein reports.

A trio of senators announced their support for John Edwards - Nashua Senators Joe Foster and Dave Gottesman, along with Upper Valley Senator Peter Burling.

Noticeably absent from that list is Manchester Senator Lou D'Allesandro, who backed Edwards in 2004. D'Allesandro remains uncommitted to any candidate.

Manchester's other Senator, Betsi DeVries, has signed on with Hillary Clinton's campaign. It's Clinton's first state senate endorsement.

DeVries spoke at a press conference highlighting the wage gap between men and women.

"Our economy is dependent upon women working, our family structure is dependent upon women working, no longer will one wage make a family's own financial situation work."

DeVries believes in addition to improving women's wages, Clinton is the most electable candidate.
