By Laura Knoy on Wednesday, April 4, 2007.

Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich has been travelling around the country, speaking out on a variety of issues as he campaigns for the presidency in 2008. Chief among his list- holding the President and the Vice President accountable for their actions. He has said that impeachment should be an option on the table, especially if the President invades Iran. We'll talk with him about the issues, including the war in Iraq, healthcare and his call for repeal of the Patriot Act.

Laura,
I wondered how things would go when you introduced Dennis as "Rock Bottom on Democratic Primary Race." However, the questions that you asked Dennis gave him opportunities to show the audiences "Who Dennis is" including the ones that he had difficulty answering--"Why are you so minority in Democratic Party?"
"Freakonomics" say that "Candidate is liked by people" is more important than the amount of $ spent for campaigning. Thanks for a great show. Now I like Dennis a lot.

I was so grateful for the opportunity to listen to Congressman Kucinich speak so passionately and matter-of-factly. He is a straight-talking clear headed thinker and doesn't allow himself to get sucked into the half truths of diplo-speak or candidate-speak. I felt that I believed and trusted that what he said was in fact his own strongly felt conviction about issues, and that he did his best (though not always thoroughly enough) to back up his convictions with examples and strategies.

What a breath of fresh air! Actually, I was so taken with his integrity and passion that, for the first time in my over 20 years of voting, I am going to join his NH campaign effort. That's saying a lot.

I live in Seattle and listened to the re-broacast of the Kucinich on KUOW on April 16th. I cannot believe (actuallly, I can) that the Democratic Party doesn't back this guy whole-heatedly. I am an anarchosocialist without political party, but I rooted for Dennis in 2004 and will again in 2008. Democrats are so hung up on money and "electibility" that they are blind to those among their ranks who have a real, progressive vision for America. Here we sit, upon the ledge of ecological apocalypse, and the Dems are fixated on which canidate has the biggest bankroll. Unbelievable. Or actually it is. My parents, both North Carolina Democrats. I worked avidly for the Mondale and Dukakis campaigns, and realized that this two party system is hopeless. I have no hope that Kucinich will win the Dem primary. This is a condemnation of the Party. Here and now, our nation and our world, perch on the edge of oblivion, and the Democrats are trying to decide between two or three corporate clones. Unbelievable. Get real, Democrats,-- vote for your most authentic candidate. Or we vagrants on the far left will vote again for Nader.
