Arizona senator and Republican presidential candidate John McCain campaigned through New Hampshire Saturday despite the foot of snow that fell through most of the state.

He called for patience and unity with the new surge strategy in Iraq.

John McCain told a crowd in Milford the battle in Iraq is a titanic struggle between good and evil.

He admitted many failures in Iraq, but he argued to withdraw troops now would be catastrophic to American security:

"I am convinced there will be chaos, I am convinced there will be genocide, and I am convinced that we will be back. And unlike the Vietnam War, when we lost the war in Vietnam, we came home, the enemy didn't want to follow us home. These people want to follow us home. Read Zarqawi. Read bin Laden. Read any of these people. It's us they're after."

He called the resolutions in the Senate against Iraq non-appropriate, and he urged more unity on the subject in Congress.

In a speech before some two hundred people, the Arizona Republican also called nuclear power the energy of the future.

And he said he was categorically against a universal health care program.
