In his two-day visit Kucinich reiterated many of the themes of his 2004 campaign – establishing a single-payer universal health care system, opposing the PATRIOT Act and scrapping global trade agreements.
Kucinich also criticized fellow Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards over the Iraq war, saying that only he had been consistent in opposing both the authorization of the war and its funding.
“They'll say they're opposed to the war, but they're for funding the war. And then they'll come back to you after they've funded the war, and say, 'Well, I continue to oppose the war.' Well, they've got one little problem – and that is, I'm in the race. And I'm going to make them tell the truth.â€
Kucinich finished sixth among Democrats in the 2004 primary, picking up about one percent of the vote. He's one of nine candidates seeking the party's nomination for 2008.
