The Grafton County Senior Citizens Council works to support the health, dignity and independence of older adults. One way it does that is by delivering meals to home-bound elders. Dick Jaeger has been delivering meals as a volunteer since 2003.

Kingswood Youth Center

When Mike Sproul was a teenager, he needed some positive adult role models. He found them at the Kingswood Youth Center.

Conway Area Humane Society

The Conway Area Humane Society’s Lifelong Friends Program matches seniors with appropriate pets. Frank Meserve got his dog, Molly, through that program.

MacDowell Colony

The MacDowell Colony in Peterborough awards resident fellowships to artists – providing them with the time, space, quiet and community to do their work. Poet Ralph Sneeden of Exeter spent two winter weeks writing there.

When Adolfo Ramirez came to the United States at age 15, he spoke no English and struggled to catch up with his peers in school. He joined the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, where he got help with homework and language skills.

Hannah Grimes

The Hannah Grimes Center in Keene helps small producers, farmers and craftspeople with business workshops, educational programs, community partnerships and a Main Street Marketplace to sell their wares.

LOOKING FOR WAYS TO GIVE BACK?

Talk to friends about the boards they serve on, or become a volunteer yourself to learn more about the accomplishments and needs of a local group.
