New Hampshire Newsmakers of the Year 2006: Floods

On Mother's Day weekend in May, rain poured onto the Granite State. Rivers swelled, homes flooded and roads washed out.

Although flooding devastated southwestern New Hampshire in the fall of 2005, this year's flooding proved to be far more widespread, often called the "disaster without a ground zero."
