Love, Race and the High Seas

We're going to explore the story of a white New Hampshire woman who, in the 19th century married a black West Indian sea captain. This is a true story, and it raises questions about ethnicity, acceptance, and societal standards even today. We'll talk with Martha Hodes, author of The Sea Captain's Wife.
