The crowd went crazy when Governor Lynch took the podium:

(What a great night it is for NH! Applause, etc….)

The Democratic governor went into election day with a commanding lead. His low-key style of governing won him strong support from Republicans and independents, as well as from his fellow Democrats.

“Thank you to all the people of NH for the trust that you have again placed in me. Tonight I pledge to all of you to continue working every day to keep that trust.”

At the Jim Coburn election night headquarters – the mood was subdued, but no less supportive:

(ambi sound of supporters)

Coburn graciously conceded the race and said, even though he knew from the start he was the underdog, he has no regrets:

(sot)

Back at the Lynch party, the governor said he is optimistic about his next term:

“I think we’re gonna have people who can really work together. Which is what I’ve been talking about…a philosophy I strongly believe in. Getting people to work together, putting partisan politics to one side…and focusing on results. It’s what the people of NH expect from their elected officials.”

Lynch said he will continue to work on getting an education funding plan in place without introducing new taxes…protecting NH’s children from sexual predators over the internet…and helping more families find good jobs.
