In many ways, singer/songwriter Liz Carlisle bridges the Red State/Blue State gap with her music. She was raised out west before heading east for an Ivy League education. The young artist has already turned a lot of heads in her short career. Her debut album Five Star Day was nominated for Best Country Album at the Independent Music Awards, and Liz was nominated for Best Emerging Artist at the Folk Alliance Awards. Liz's music has been compared to Ani De Franco, Dar Williams and Faith Hill. She stopped by the Front Porch studios last August to play a few songs and talk about her work.
