Incumbent Republican State Senator Bob Letourneau keeps his 19th District seat, with a victory over the same opponent he took the seat from two years ago.

For Senator Bob Letourneau, that's the sweet sound of victory after a hard-fought battle against challenger Frank Sapareto.

Letourneau: "I'm feeling very happy. I'm elated, I'm humbled by all of these people, that have worked so hard to help us win this race."

Letourneau, who won this round by a much larger margin than two years ago, credits his victory to a lot of hard work - and taking the high road.

Letourneau: "We tried to do a race that was a New Hampshire-style, traditional type of race, without the mudslinging."

Frank Sapareto conceded defeat at his election night gathering in Windham, and congratulated his opponent. But he says defeat doesn't mean he'll stop working on issues important to him, such as education funding.
