Right from the start, with our Founding Fathers, American political leaders and presidents have invoked God and religion, sometimes out of conviction that's more political than pious. We'll look at the role faith has played in American politics, how it shapes our political culture and how religious leaders feel about that. Laura's guest is Derek Davis, Professor at the J.M. Dawson Institute of Church-State Studies at Baylor University. We'll also hear from Rev. David Jones, Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Concord and Chaplain for the New Hampshire State Senate, and Rev. Dale Kuehne, Associate Professor of Politics and Senior Advisor to the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at St. Anselm College, and pastor of the Emmanuel Covenant Church in Nashua.
