This week marks the anniversary of one of the largest public works projects of all time.

50 years ago, the country began the task of creating the interstate highway system.

Also this week, a Community Advisory Committee of New Hampshire residents has completed its own task.

The Committee has issued its final report on where the state should focus its long range transportation plans.

Cliff Sinnott is a member of the committee.

He's also the Executive Director of the Rockingham County Planning Commission.

He tells NHPR's Mark Bevis that this report in a sense reflects the evolution of how we think about transportation.
