In conjunction with its 150th anniversary, Child and Family Services is publishing "No Higher Calling," a book that explores the social history of the state's attitudes toward poverty, welfare and charity. Kat Strange is the communications director for CFS; she coordinated the project. Jack Resch is a professor of history at UNH; he was the historical consultant for the book.
