The new section on our web site called Drive and Ambition is a place for all of you to tell us a little bit about some experience connected to how you get to work. The story you're about to hear caught the attention of NHPR’s Jon Greenberg. It’s about a young woman who followed her heart straight into a 90 minute commute.

Sit down and read what people posted on the web site, you'll see the gamut of feelings about commuting. You read the ones from people who ride their bikes to work, or just walk. The definitely feel like they've beaten the system. But there are lots of stories from people who drive and enjoy it. One guy is learning Chinese and listens to Chinese podcasts as he drives from Loudon to Manchester.

And then are there are the folks who are just barely hanging on –long drives to Massachusetts, bad traffic, rude drivers and they hate it.

The feeling in this story was definitely mixed. The first sentence I noticed was this -- "In September, I met a fabulous man." Once you see that, I defy anybody not to read further.

It was written by Maura Leahy, a young woman who got a degree in environmental management about a year ago. She felt pretty lucky when she landed a job right after graduate school. And even better, not too long after that, she met, as she said, a fabulous man.
