The state of New Hampshire has reached an agreement with the fastener company Velcro. The Manchester facility did not stick to its agreement with the state to regulate its own air emissions. As a consequence, Velcro received the state's largest civil penalty in state history, $700 thousand dollars. The violations, discovered in 1999, came after a Department of Environmental Services investigation. NHPR's Dan Gorenstein spoke with Senior Assistant Attorney General Maureen Smith.
