FEMA officials will conduct a preliminary assessment of the property damage in the Concord area from this week’s floods.

State officials would like residents to collect estimates of any damages they’ve incurred, along with pictures and repair records if they have them.

Jim Van Dongen from the Department of Safety says this initial assessment in Concord will determine whether the rest of the state will later qualify for aid.

"If it does, then sort of phase two will come in. State and federal teams will come out and from there attempt to collect all damages in the state of New Hampshire related to this flooding disaster."

Van Dongen says FEMA will also assess whether the state and local communities qualify for aid to repair roads and other public property.
