Pvt. George Roehl Burial in Veterans' Cemetery in Boscawen

And finally this evening.

Family and friends gathered at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen today to bury Private First Class George Roehl.

Roehl was on patrol outside Bagdhad Monday, April 11th, when a roadside bomb exploded killing him and two other soldier.

Roehl grew up in Manchester and was the oldest of five children.

Linda Bennett, a family friend the kids called Grandma, said Roehl was proud to serve in the Army and to do his part in Iraq.

As friends and family members grieved, sometimes uncontrollably, over their loss, the Army awarded Private Roehl a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

And the Honor Guard saluted him with 15 guns.

Private First Class George Roehl was laid to rest today at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

He was 21 years old.
