Recalculating Child Support

By Laura Knoy on Wednesday, March 8, 2006.

The State Senate is set to consider a bill that would allow a divorced parent to make smaller child support payments to their ex if they spend more time with their kids--a huge change from the current formula. Supporters say this so called “pro-rated” system is more equitable and fair; critics call it ‘a recipe for disaster’. Laura is joined by David Bickford, Republican State Representative from Strafford and Mary Stuart Gile, Democratic State Representative from Concord.
