Vermont writer Joni Cole asked women from all walks of life to keep a diary for one day in June, 2004. Joni has published those intimate writings in a new book called This Day in the Life. She says she started the project to help her get perspective on her own life, and to help others do the same. We'll find out what she's learned.

Later in the show we'll get a glimpse inside the life of a 16 year old mother of two from Maine. The piece comes to us from producer Sarah Elzas by way of the Public Radio Exchange. You can click here to listen to the story again and to comment on it at the PRX site.
