New Hampshire police are working with Ohio officials to determine if bodies found this week are those of Sarah and Philip Gehring.

New Hampshire Public Radio's Amy Quinton has more.

Concord police will travel to Ohio with the dental records of Philip and Sarah Gehring.

The children were murdered by their father, Manuel Gehring, two years ago, and buried a few miles from Interstate 80 in Hudson, Ohio.

New Hampshire senior assistant attorney general Jeffrey Strelzin says they hope to make a positive identification and bring the investigation to an end.

:I think, like everyone, I was extremely happy and hopeful that Philip and Sarah can be brought home to their family and friends, and I think I speak for everyone involved in the case that that's been our hope on behalf of this family.:

Gehring confessed to the killings while in prison, but killed himself before he could be tried. Strelzin says the bodies were found at a gravesite consistent with Gehring's confession. The childrens' mother, Terri Knight of Hillsborough, says she's hopeful the gravesite found will hold her children's remains.
