Are You Fed Up With "Green Noise"?

By Andrew Walsh on Tuesday, July 15, 2008.

Here on Word of Mouth, we often cover topics related to environmental concerns and global warming (in fact, our Next Green Thing series specifically focuses on these issues). As people seek to learn more about the health of our planet, media outlets like ours are dedicating time and energy to covering the stories related to it.

What Does the Future Hold?

By Andrew Walsh on Monday, July 7, 2008.

When most public radio reporters want to tap into public opinion, they grab a microphone, hit the street, and start talking to random strangers.

Fereshteh Toosi basically did the same thing, only she dressed-up like a nurse, hauled around a crystal ball, offered people tea and rock candy, then asked them to predict the future.

By Andrew Walsh on Monday, June 23, 2008.

Wednesday on Word of Mouth, we’re going back to summer camp, and we want your stories. This makes for a mix of employees who span many years and several generations. As people with different work styles and communication styles begin to team up, it’s going to change the face of the modern workplace.

Are You Our Next Intern?

By Andrew Walsh on Friday, June 6, 2008.

This Thursday, we at Word of Mouth sadly said goodbye to our first-ever intern, Jake Eaton. Jake spent the past month with us, working hard to keep us on the air with fresh ideas and accurate information. You’ll still hear from Jake this fall when he resumes his post as one of our regular bloggers.

What Was Your Best Medical Experience?

By Andrew Walsh on Thursday, May 29, 2008.

More often than not, it seems like people complain about their experiences in doctors offices and health centers. Either we wait too long for an appointment, or we don't get the time and attention we deserve, or we never really get to see our primary physician...and so on.

One Way To Find Parking

By Andrew Walsh on Wednesday, May 7, 2008.

It can be difficult for even the wealthiest New Yorkers to find a place to park their cars. That's why architect Annabelle Selldorf is working on a car elevator alongside a 19-story apartment building in Chelsea. It would let residents keep their vehicles in a garage right next to their unit.
