Are You Going Green This Summer?

By Avishay Artsy on Sunday, May 25, 2008.

It feels like summer is finally here in all its glory, and so are record-high gas prices, which means it's making a lot more sense to ditch the car and bike or walk to work instead. Listener Lisa Byles sent this photo of her family. She says, "We are an example of a multiracial family – each child has his/her own look. I was once stopped in the grocery store when the children were 1,4, and 7 years old. First I was complimented on how beautiful they were, then I was asked if they had different fathers!

This is an old photo, but it shows our family. My husband is Jamaican by nationality, with ancestors traced back to England, Portugal, and Africa. I am American, with English and German ancestry."
