Bats Are Dying from Something Mysterious

By Mark Bevis on Monday, March 17, 2008.

In bat caves in New York and Vermont, a mystery is lurking.

Sounds like the beginning of a comic book, but according to wildlife biologists this mystery isn't funny. It's called White Nose syndrome and it's killing bats by the thousands.

Emily Brunkhurst is a biologist with the non-game and endangered wildlife program at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. She described the symptoms to NHPR's Mark Bevis.
