Democratic Presidential candidates traveling the state have made addressing global warming one of their top priorities.

Most candidates have specific plans -- from supporting increased fuel efficiency standards in cars to setting caps on greenhouse gases.

New Hampshire Public Radio’s Amy Quinton reports on what Democratic voters in the Peterborough area – a region that leans Democratic - are looking for in a candidate.

Beyond the House Parties and Town Hall Meetings

If the New Hampshire primary is known for one thing, it's one-on-one contact between the candidates and the voters. This might sound like a completely open approach and in theory, it is. But in reality, when the presidential contenders come through, they spend most of their time with one kind of voter. Someone who has a particular interest in the primary.

As part of Primary Place, our ongoing series on the voters of Exeter, New Hampshire Public Radio's Jon Greenberg went to a community picnic where no candidates were present. There, he found a more complicated blend of attitudes.

Baseball's "One-Hit Wonders"

The Red Sox wrap-up a three game series against their rival Yankees today. We'll check-in with sports writer Cecelia Tan, who's taking in the action at Yankee Stadium. We'll also hear some of the greatest baseball stories never told. Richard Letarte's new book looks at the careers of baseball players in the 1950s who only had one good season to brag about. His book is called That One Glorious Season: Baseball Players with One Spectacular Year.

Transportation Commissioner Charles O'Leary

New Hampshire's Department of Transportation has been in the news a lot lately, and so has its acting department head. Interim Commissioner Charles O'Leary is no stranger to the position- he served as head of DOT in the 1990's. He joins us to talk about everything from their budget to the ten year plan to possible new taxes and tolls in the Granite State, and the search for the next Commissioner at the Department of Transportation.
