Forest Fires Out West Hit White Mountain Forest Budget

It’s wildfire season, a time when the worst fires burn thousands of miles away from the northeast. But the rising cost of fighting them in the west is affecting the operation of New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest here in the east.

Masterpieces in Health Care

At a time where many are critical of today’s health care system, authors Vince Pelote and Lynne Route say there are some who are doing it right. As the old saying goes, “sometimes it’s the little things that mean a lot” and in their book Masterpieces in Health Care Leadership they highlight how leaders in nine health care organization across the country, including three in New England, are doing these “little things” to achieve what they call “extraordinary results”. We’ll explore what’s being done right in healthcare, what are its biggest challenges and how these nine case studies and can serve as examples for other health care institutions across the country.
