Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Dodd

By Laura Knoy on Wednesday, April 4, 2007.

Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd paints himself as a traditional south of the Mason-Dixon line Democrat, a "Sam Rayburn Democrat -- without prefix, suffix, or apology". In a race dominated by the three Democratic frontrunners- Clinton, Obama and Edwards, he has been called the dark horse. We'll talk with Senator Dodd about his run for the Presidency in 2008, how the campaigning process is different this election cycle and the issues, including his recent vote for setting a timeline for troop withdrawal from Iraq and what he believes is the best way to move forward in the Middle East.

*Senator Dodd will be leaving the show a few minutes early to get to a 10am event at Concord High School. We'll be continuing the conversation with Jen Donahue, Senior Advisor for Political Affairs at St. Anselm College's Institute of Politics.*
