A Controversy Is Brewing in Berlin Over What's Left of the Paper Mill

A controversy is brewing over the last remaining piece of the former Fraser Paper Mill in Berlin.

A New York company wants to build a 65 million dollar biomass plant there, to take advantage of the still remaining boiler and smokestack.

But a group of residents oppose the plan, after seeing the benefits of having virtually no paper mill looming over their downtown.

Huckabee Broadens His Base

Polls in Iowa have shown dramatic gains for former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, who has apparently taken the lead over longtime frontrunner Mitt Romney. Now Huckabee is making inroads here as well, another state where Romney has held an advantage.

Voter opinion surveys are coming fast and thick these days, as the New Hampshire primary gets closer. Polls have long been used as a gauge of public opinion, on the issues and the candidates – but they're also criticized, for having too much influence on the way our elections are conducted and covered by the media.
