Back in April, we aired a segment in our Primary Place series about a group of retired Democrats. They had just begun regular meetings at the Loaf and Ladle restaurant to help focus their thinking about the presidential candidates. This month, New Hampshire Public Radio’s Jon Greenberg got together with the group again. They started out undecided, now most of them have made up their minds.

A Public Bridge Built with Private Money

Since state Highway funds are scarce these days, the Department of Transportation wants to let private investors build a new bridge over the Merrimack River.

For commuters, news of the proposed new crossing from Nashua to Litchfield brings relief, almost joy.

But for one group of Nashua citizens, the proposal creates frustration and shock.

A Season’s Griot 2007

The Exchange takes a break to bring you this holiday special. "A Season's Griot 2007" is public radio's only nationally syndicated Kwanzaa program. Hosted for the last 15 years by acclaimed storyteller Madafo Lloyd Wilson, this annual one-hour special captures the tales and traditions of African American and African peoples. This year, the program focuses on the National Association of Black Storytellers, in honor of the group's 25th anniversary. During the program, Madafo, a long-time member of the group, weaves together stories told by group members with an interview with the group’s founders and their creation of a vibrant forum for black storytelling.
