The Exchange takes a break today to bring you this special series. This fall, the Third Coast Festival brings the best new documentaries produced worldwide to the national airwaves in a special two-hour program called the "2007 Third Coast Festival Broadcast". The featured documentaries, all winners of the seventh annual TCF/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition, represent radio at its finest: moving, insightful, surprising and sometimes even life changing. Alongside the winning documentaries, the broadcast includes a profile of the year's Audio Luminary Award winner, behind-the-scenes producer interviews and highlights from the Awards Ceremony emceed by Peter Sagal.

The 2007 Third Coast Festival Broadcast will be hosted by Gwen Macsai, host of Re:sound, the Third Coast Festival’s weekly documentary program on Chicago Public Radio. An award-winning writer, producer and humorist, Macsai's radio work has aired on All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and Weekend Edition Saturday and This American Life.
