A little over seven months ago, FEMA investigators were calculating the damage caused by historic floods in that part of New Hampshire. Matt Saxton has alot of experience with FEMA. He is in his third term as a Selectman in Alstead. And Saxton tells NHPR's Mark Bevis that victims of this weeks flooding should should be aware of common misperceptions about what FEMA does.... and doesn't do. FEMA Tours Flood DamageBy Kerry Grens on Friday, May 19, 2006.Today Federal Emergency Management teams began an inspection on the extent of flood damage around New Hampshire. They are visiting residential areas throughout the next few days to determine whether the state will qualify for federal recovery aid. New Hampshire Public Radio's Kerry Grens caught up with one FEMA team in Manchester and has this report. |
