Link Between Skin Cancer and Common Virus

By Kerry Grens on Monday, March 27, 2006.

It’s expected that one million Americans will develop skin cancer this year.

Sun is thought to be the major cause, but other risk factors—like genes and fair skin—can come in to play.

Researchers at Dartmouth College have uncovered another possible contributor.

It is a virus that causes cervical cancer and if researchers can show that it causes skin cancer too, a new world of prevention could open up.

Playing the Ed Funding Game

By Laura Knoy on Monday, March 27, 2006.

We’re going to play a game today and you’re invited to be a contestant as we try to figure out how to pay for public schools. The only rule- you can’t do it with the current system. Maybe it’s an income tax, sales tax, tax on second homes or something no one’s thought of before. Whatever it is, bring your ideas as we spin the wheel on school funding. Laura's guest is Kevin Landrigan, State House Reporter for the Nashua Telegraph. We'll also hear from Doug Hall, Executive Director of the NH Center for Public Policy Study, Fred Bramante, Former Chairman of the State Board of Education and Guy MacMillin, Editorial Page Editor for the Keene Sentinel. Other guests TBA.
