Frivolous Lawsuits: Real Problem or Imagined?

A bill to establish new punishments for frivolous lawsuits is back before the New Hampshire House.

If it passes, it would force anyone who delays a state project by filing such a suit pay construction costs resulting from the delay.

Proponents say they want to stop lawyers from filing suits that could cost the state millions.

But critics of the bill argue it's not needed and worse, it could frighten citizens from trying to seek redress in the courts.

North Country Towns are Strapped Too

Town Meeting Day is just a few weeks away.

Residents across the state will be deciding the big issues facing their towns.

And once again, many North Country communities are struggling to make ends meet.
