Here in New Hampshire, Governor John Lynch ordered flags lowered to half-staff in Ford's honor. Friends and political activists in the Granite State are praising the man they say brought decency back to the White House after President Nixon's resignation. Joining in that chorus is former 1st District Representative, and Democrat, Norman D'Amours, who served in Congress during the Ford Administration. He recalled his memories of the 38th President for NHPR's Mark Bevis. Nashua's AIDS Task Force Faces Budget CutsBy Sheryl Rich-Kern on Wednesday, December 27, 2006.Nashua's AIDS Task Force provides transportation, counseling and medicine to HIV-infected patients. But after March 1st, it may offer very little. That's because the state expects to lose the majority of its federal funding for AIDS related services. For Nashua's more than 100 clients, that's life-threatening news. NHPR Correspondent Sheryl Rich-Kern has the details. |
