Nashua Students Get Expert Tutors at Library

In Nashua, students are getting expert advice on their homework at the public library.

And they’re doing it remotely using only a library card…..and a computer.

UNH Has Plans for Odiorne Point State Park

Plans for a multi-million dollar marine research lab at Odiorne Point in Rye are facing some local opposition.

The University of New Hampshire had originally proposed to build the facility in New Castle.

But town residents opposed the project's size and feared it would create too much traffic and noise.

So now UNH wants to build the lab on land that is part of Odiorne State Park.

NHPR Correspondent Roger Wood reports.

Rethinking Nonprofits

Robert Eggers says nonprofit organizations need to change the way they operate. Through his experience in the sector -- from his early days a volunteer to the formation of his much lauded D.C. Central Kitchen, which distributes food to the needy -- Eggers says he's seen lots of waste, ineffectiveness and a lack of logic in nonprofit world. In his book, Begging for Change, he looks for ways for nonprofits to work together and become more successful. We'll talk with him about that and his upcoming presentation for the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits.

Writers on a New England Stage with Mitch Albom
