Manchester's Mayoral Candidates Battle Over Taxes

Most of New Hampshire is enjoying a short reprieve from the state's biennial elections.

But not in Manchester.

There voters go to the polls next week to pick the run-off candidates in the race for mayor.

NHPR's Manchester Correspondent Joe Cox caught up with the candidates over the weekend and files this report.

Chandler Continues Fundraiser

Bartlett Representative Gene Chandler held a fundraiser in the North Country on Sunday.

The event comes one year after his Corn Roast that led to a fundraising scandal that ultimately led to the former Speaker's downfall.

Movies like "Fahrenheit 9/11" and "Super Size Me" had a lasting impact on lots of people who saw them, but they may have even had a more powerful effect on the film industry itself. We'll look at the way the American public views documentaries these days, and how the genre is evolving. We're joined by two New Hampshire filmmakers: Van McLeod is the state Commissioner for Cultural Resources, and Larry Benaquist is the chair of the Film Studies program at Keene State College.
