ArchivesNew Hampshire's Civil War ConnectionBy Laura Knoy on Wednesday, July 6, 2005.July 1st is the anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, where the Union and Confederate armies met outside this small Pennsylvania town and ultimately decided the fate of the Civil War. We'll look at New Hampshire's involvement in the war and efforts today to get recognition for the Granite State. Laura's guests are Daniel Murray, New Hampshire Department Commander for the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and descendent of Civil War soldiers, and Ken Leidner, Director of the NH State House Visitors' Center. Ken is also Chair of the NH State Veteran's Council, Past President and current Historian for the NH Veteran's Association and Co-Chair of the FLAG (Flag Legacy for Additional Generations) Initiative. |
