ArchivesFreedom Joins List of Towns with Their Own ForestsBy Mark Bevis on Monday, July 4, 2005.The town of Freedom has recently announced that it has joined with Conservation groups and the town of Madison to create a new Town Forest. The 26 hundred acre site, established to permanently protect the area around Trout Pond, is the largest piece of undeveloped land in Freedom. And it links up with other conserved properties to form a block of over 5 thousand acres of protected land. NHPR's Mark Bevis has more. |
