Medicare Drug Benefit

Top federal officials were in Manchester today (Wednesday) to promote local efforts to get people signed up for the new Medicare drug benefit.

The start date for the prescription drug plan—called Part D—is January 2006.

Organizations around the state have work underway to tackle the daunting task of informing the one hundred eighty thousand people eligible for the benefit.

New State Test Begins This Fall

This fall, New Hampshire students in grades three through eight will take a new state test.
The test is called the New England Common Assessment Program or NECAP.
It's a result of the No Child Left Behind Law.
As New Hampshire Public Radio's Amy Quinton reports, the annual assessment is a big change for students and teachers
